Sydney Catholic Schools Future Schooling - Five Dock

Primary aged children looking at iPads.

Five Dock and the surrounding Inner West suburbs will be an area of significant population growth in the coming two decades and subsequently there is a need to increase capacity at our local schools. Sydney Catholic Schools understands this will bring both challenges and opportunities. The area is well served by a good selection of parish-based Catholic primary schools and Domremy College. However, there is uneven growth in enrolments across the primary schools and at present there is no local parish-based Catholic secondary school option for boys.

Sydney Catholic Schools is committed to offering quality future-focussed school offerings to all Catholic families. We have an exciting opportunity to better understand the aspirations of our school community, past, present and future, and to re-imagine education provision for this precinct for the long term.

To help inform our future thinking, we are consulting with the Five Dock community. We invite our parish, school and local communities to participate in this process. We will hold a series of workshops and conduct an online survey over August and September. Your school will provide details for each event, and a program will also be available on this website.

Following the engagement process the subsequent report and recommendations will be provided to the Sydney Catholic Schools Board to provide stakeholder input to future planning. In addition to this consultation, Sydney Catholic Schools will also consider a range of specialist inputs and advice to gain a full understanding of future options.
