Sydney Catholic Schools Future Schooling - Sutherland Shire

Sydney Catholic Schools is undertaking a program of engagement and consultation with the Sutherland Shire school and parish communities.

Our schools have provided quality Catholic education to the local communities in the Sutherland Shire for more than 100 years. In this time our schools have consistently responded to local needs, the growing community and changes to education and pedagogy.

We know the Sutherland Shire community is both growing and changing, and our educational outcomes are strong. We want to prepare our students for the future, so they leave school with the knowledge and experiences that will enable them to thrive.

We are taking this opportunity to look to the future of Catholic education in our region. We will be considering all stages of school education, from early learning to the end of secondary school.

The aim of this consultation is to better understand why our Sutherland community chooses Catholic schools and the aspirations our community has for education in this region. We want to know why you choose Catholic schools and what sort of education experience you want your children to have throughout their entire school life from early learning to Year 12 and beyond.

We are committed to continue to respond to, and anticipate, the needs of this community to continue our proud tradition and important role.

This consultation includes surveys, workshops, focus groups and interviews with a broad range of stakeholders and community members to ensure we hear from a range of voices. We will also be holding info sessions at each parish during September following Sunday Mass. We welcome parishioners, school communities and the local community to these events.

A number of engagement activities occurred during Term 3 this year, however additional workshop dates have been added for early Term 4. To register for one of these workshops please use the "Workshop Registration" option.

Outcomes of the consultation will be provided to Sydney Catholic Schools as stakeholder input to future planning. In addition to this community consultation, Sydney Catholic Schools will also consider a range of specialist inputs and advice to gain a full understanding of future options.
